The central government has implemented many schemes for girls under the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme. You can plan your daughter’s future well by investing and saving wisely in these schemes. Here is information about which schemes have been implemented for girls.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana
This is a small savings scheme of the central government. An account can be opened under this scheme anytime before the girl child turns 10 years old. A Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account can be started with a deposit of just Rs. 250. You can deposit up to Rs. 1.5 lakh in a financial year. This account continues until the daughter turns 21. When the daughter turns 18, you can get 10% for higher education. 50% of the money can be withdrawn. The government gives an annual interest of 8% on this scheme. Apart from this, you can also get the benefit of exemption in income tax.

Balika Samriddhi Yojana
This scheme started by the central government has now been handed over to the state governments. Balika Samriddhi Yojana has been started for families below the poverty line. In this, Rs 500 is given on the birth of a girl child. Along with this, an annual scholarship is also given when the daughter starts going to school. This amount starts from Rs 300 and goes up to Rs 1000 per year.

UDAAN CBSE Scholarship Program
The UDAAN (UDAAN) scheme has been implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in collaboration with the CBSE Board. Under this, the objective is to increase the enrollment of girls in engineering colleges. Under this, every student studying in class 11 can take free online or offline coaching. 3% of the seats have been reserved for girls from families with an annual income of less than Rs 6 lakh. The application for this scheme can be made from the CBSE website.

National Incentive Scheme
The central government has launched this scheme to promote secondary education among SC/ST girls and reduce the number of girls dropping out of school. Under this, a girl child who passes class 8 and gets admission in class 9 is given an FD of Rs. 3000. She can withdraw it with interest after she turns 18 and passes class 10.

State Government Schemes
Like the Centre, state governments are also implementing many schemes for girl children. These include Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal. These schemes are available from the birth of girls to the completion of higher education. Delhi’s Ladli Scheme, Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Kanya Suraksha Yojana and West Bengal’s Kanyashree Scheme are several such schemes.
